Say, O Abu Hasan—may you ever dwell amid blessings—

Say, O Abu Hassan, you are still bestowing favors,

O you who fill the heart and both ears with kindness.

O you who fill my heart and ears with kindness,

تُدير صوتاً لَنَا ما زال مُقْترحاً

تُدير صوتاً لَنَا ما زال مُقْترحاً

أبقَى بقلبي أَطراباً وأشجانا

أبقَى بقلبي أَطراباً وأشجانا

You perform for us a song that is still requested,

You direct a voice to us that continues to charm,

That has left raptures and sorrows in my heart.

Leaving my heart disturbed and full of passion.

يا حبَّذا جبلُ الريّان من جبلٍ

يا حبَّذا جبلُ الريّان من جبلٍ

وحبّذا ساكنُ الريان مَنْ كانا

وحبّذا ساكنُ الريان مَنْ كانا

Ah, what a lovely mountain Mount al-Rayyan is!

Blessed is Mount Rayyan over any mountain,

And how lovely is al-Rayyan's dweller, whoever he may be!

And blessed are the dwellers of Rayyan whoever they may be,

ولن ترانيَ إلا حاملاً قَدَحاً

ولن ترانيَ إلا حاملاً قَدَحاً

وشارباً وعليهِ منهُ سكرانا

وشارباً وعليهِ منهُ سكرانا

And you will never see me except carrying a cup,

You will not see me except carrying a cup,

And drinking to its accompaniment, and intoxicated by it.

Drinking from it and intoxicated by it.
