O man who blackens your gray hair,
O man who blackens his gray hair,
so that by it you may be reckoned among the young,
So that he may thereby be counted among young men,
أقصِرْdesist فلوْfor even if سوَّدْتَyou blackened كلevery حمامةٍdove

desist—for even if you blackened every dove,
Desist! For even if you blackened every dove
white though it was, it would not be reckoned among the ravens.
That was white, it would not be counted among crows.
