أيامكمْ يا بني الجراح قد جَرَحَتْ

أيامكمْ يا بني الجراح قد جَرَحَتْ

كُلَّ القلوب ففيها منكُمُ ثارُ

كُلَّ القلوب ففيها منكُمُ ثارُ

Your days, O sons of al-Jarrah, have wounded

O days of you, O sons of wounds

all hearts; they have a blood-debt to exact from you.

You have wounded all hearts, for in them from you is vengeance

ما منكُمُ رجلٌ تَمَّتْ رياستُه

ما منكُمُ رجلٌ تَمَّتْ رياستُه

إلا مَشُومٌ عظيم الكِبر جَبَّارُ

إلا مَشُومٌ عظيم الكِبر جَبَّارُ

No man among you has attained full leadership

There is none among you whose leadership was completed

except an ill-omened, supremely arrogant tyrant.

Except ill-omened, mighty, tyrannical

لا قَدَّس اللَه بالإقبال دولتَكُم

لا قَدَّس اللَه بالإقبال دولتَكُم

فإن إقبالكمْ لِلناس إدبارُ

فإن إقبالكمْ لِلناس إدبارُ

May God not bless your rule with prosperity,

May God not hallow your state through prosperity

for your prosperity is adversity for the people.

For your prosperity for people is decline
