أيها الناكثُ العهودَ ستَجْني

أيها الناكثُ العهودَ ستَجْني

ندماً من عُهودِك المنكوثهْ

ندماً من عُهودِك المنكوثهْ

O breaker of covenants, you will reap

O you who breaks pacts, you shall reap

regret from your broken covenants.

أنا باللَّه وَحدَهُ مستغيثٌ

أنا باللَّه وَحدَهُ مستغيثٌ

ويميناً لَتأْتيَنِّي المغوثَهْ

ويميناً لَتأْتيَنِّي المغوثَهْ

I seek aid from God alone,

I seek help from God alone

and I swear, aid will surely come to me.

And my oath shall bring me relief

فاخشَ ربَّ السماء وأْمَنْ هجائي

فاخشَ ربَّ السماء وأْمَنْ هجائي

قد كفتني أخبارُك المبثوثهْ

قد كفتني أخبارُك المبثوثهْ

So fear the Lord of heaven, and fear not my satire;

So fear the Lord of the heavens and stay my wrath

the widely spread reports about you are already enough for me.

Your scattered news has wearied me

لستُ أهجوك ما حييتُ ببيتٍ

لستُ أهجوك ما حييتُ ببيتٍ

وستهجوك عنِّيَ الأحدوثهْ

وستهجوك عنِّيَ الأحدوثهْ

I shall not satirize you in a single verse as long as I live;

I shall not satirize you whilst I live with verse

and the tale will satirize you in my stead.

But events will satirize you after me
