    Not every matter whose opportunity a man has squandered

    today can be remedied tomorrow morning.

    Would a noble man break a promise whose breach is a danger

    from which the ruin of soul and body is feared?

    Delay is permissible in some matters, but I have not seen it

    permitted in giving aid while the distressed one is in anguish.

    وليس يُقْرَنُ ذو نوم بذي رَصَدِ

    You have indeed slept, heedless of me, while Time lay in wait through the night;

    and a sleeper is no match for one lying in wait.
