لا تَصْنَعَنّ صنيعةً مبتورةً

لا تَصْنَعَنّ صنيعةً مبتورةً

وإذا اصْطنعْتَ إلى الرجالِ فتمِّمِ

وإذا اصْطنعْتَ إلى الرجالِ فتمِّمِ

Never bestow a kindness that is cut short.

And if you show kindness to men, see it through.

لا تطعمنَّهمُ وتقطعَ طعمةً

لا تطعمنَّهمُ وتقطعَ طعمةً

أشبِعْ إذا أطعمْتَ أولا تُطْعمِ

أشبِعْ إذا أطعمْتَ أولا تُطْعمِ

Do not feed them only to cut their meal short.

Give them their fill when you feed them, or do not feed them at all.
