My fire has not gone out, but I
meet hearts whose fire is extinguished.

In our age, souls have arisen
that deem warm things cold, but not cold things,
كماjust as تعافُshuns الطَّيِّبَthe good المشتهَىthe appetizing

just as the good and appetizing is shunned
among foods, by a disordered stomach.

What they have deemed cold is not cold;
rather, they themselves are cold and inert.
