لا يُعدمُ اللَّهُ يديك الصَّوْلا

لا يُعدمُ اللَّهُ يديك الصَّوْلا

على الأعادي وعلينا الطَّولا

على الأعادي وعلينا الطَّولا

May God never deprive your hands of might

God does not deprive your hands of aid

against foes, nor of bounty toward us.

Against the enemies and we have endurance

أصبحت في أمرِ صديقٍ زوْلا

أصبحت في أمرِ صديقٍ زوْلا

جمعتَ فيه قوةً وحَوْلا

جمعتَ فيه قوةً وحَوْلا

In a friend's cause, you have become a marvel,

You have become hesitant in the matter of a friend

combining strength and resourcefulness in it.

You gathered in it strength and capability

وما تهيبتَ هناك هَوْلا

وما تهيبتَ هناك هَوْلا

حتى رأى الويلُ عليه العوْلا

حتى رأى الويلُ عليه العوْلا

Nor did you dread any terror there,

And you did not fear any horror there

until Woe himself saw distress descend upon him,

Until doom saw in him destruction

من بعدِ ما أَنضى البلادَ جَوْلا

من بعدِ ما أَنضى البلادَ جَوْلا

وعاد فحلاً يستضيم الشَّوْلا

وعاد فحلاً يستضيم الشَّوْلا

after he had worn the lands out with his roaming,

After he had wandered the country aimlessly

and returned as a stallion oppressing the dry she-camels.

And returned a stallion who resents the young foal

أولَى له أولَى بهِ وأولَى

أولَى له أولَى بهِ وأولَى

فاسلم بديئاً للعلا وأولى

فاسلم بديئاً للعلا وأولى

Woe to him, woe upon him, and woe again!

He is more deserving, it suits him more

So live unharmed, foremost in glory and most worthy of it,

So submit to the most high calmly

في ظلّ عيشٍ لم يخالط غَوْلا

في ظلّ عيشٍ لم يخالط غَوْلا

تُجِدُّ فعلاً وتجدُّ قولا

تُجِدُّ فعلاً وتجدُّ قولا

in the shade of a life untainted by ruin.

In the shade of a life untouched by injustice

You are earnest in deed and earnest in word.

You will truly find action and words

أنت الكريم ليس فيه لوْلا

أنت الكريم ليس فيه لوْلا

قد أصبح الخيرُ عليه استولى

قد أصبح الخيرُ عليه استولى

You are the generous man, without a single 'but';

You are the generous one, in him there is no but

goodness has now gained mastery over him.

Goodness has come to prevail upon him

يا مَنْ أمرَّ حالُه واحلولى

يا مَنْ أمرَّ حالُه واحلولى

O you whose condition has grown bitter and sweet!

O you whose state has become transformed
