لا يَحْزُنَنَّك مَن يمو

لا يَحْزُنَنَّك مَن يمو

تُ فلم يمُتْ من ماتَ قَبلكْ

تُ فلم يمُتْ من ماتَ قَبلكْ

Let no one who dies grieve you;

Let not the dead grieve you-

for whoever died before you did not die.

None dies who lived before you.

ما ماتَ إلّا من تطا

ما ماتَ إلّا من تطا

وَلَ عُمرُهُ وأُذِيقَ ثُكْلَكْ

وَلَ عُمرُهُ وأُذِيقَ ثُكْلَكْ

No one has died except the one

Only he dies whom fate strikes,

whose life grew long and who was made to taste the loss of you.

Whose life is up, who tastes your pain.

لا ذاق ثُكلكَ ذائقٌ

لا ذاق ثُكلكَ ذائقٌ

حتى يرى في الناسِ مِثْلَكْ

حتى يرى في الناسِ مِثْلَكْ

May no one taste the loss of you

None tastes your pain before

until he sees someone like you among people.

Seeing himself just like you.
