أُعمِلُ فيهم ذكراً حُساما

أُعمِلُ فيهم ذكراً حُساما

عضْب الغِراريْن يقُدُّ الهاما

I wield against them a virile, keen-cutting sword,

I wield among them a sharp-edged sword

Sharp on both edges, cleaving heads,

The stinging blade of warriors leads the thrust

كأنَّ في صفحته غماما

كأنَّ في صفحته غماما

وبي يُسمَّى ذَكَراً حساما

وبي يُسمَّى ذَكَراً حساما

As though clouds lay upon its flat;

As though in its blade rests a cloud

And through me it is called virile and keen-cutting.

And I am called the sharp-edged sword
