    For me, or raging phlegm.

If that is so, O son of our lords,

Then replace it for me with a ground-walking bird.

Is the best admixture for the body, for one who blends.

And do not fear cold food

For a man fashioned from smokeless flame.

Do not suppose your fisherman's cast

Has wiped out offspring and parent alike.

For the fish within the Tigris

Are twice as many as its surging waves.

You are the one whose generosity never ends

Until the persistent praiser's praise reaches its limit.

And the son of those whose endeavors surpassed

The fabric of poetry and its weaver.

Nor do I think Ibn Ammar will desist

Until we meet amid billowing dust.
