رأيتُك تكره وقعَ الظُّبا

رأيتُك تكره وقعَ الظُّبا

وتَصبُو إلى كلِّ شيءٍ حَسنْ

وتَصبُو إلى كلِّ شيءٍ حَسنْ

I have seen you hate the stroke of sword-blades,

I saw you despise the fall of hyenas

and yearn for every beautiful thing.

And aspire to all things beautiful

فإن لم يُكنْ لك صبرٌ عليَّ

فإن لم يُكنْ لك صبرٌ عليَّ

فلا تُغلبنَّ على الصبر عنْ

فلا تُغلبنَّ على الصبر عنْ

If you have no patience with me,

If you have no patience for me

then do not fail to endure being apart from me.

Then do not force patience away from me
