أتيتُك لم أشفعْ إليك بشافعٍ

أتيتُك لم أشفعْ إليك بشافعٍ

ولو شئتُ كان الناسُ لي شفعاءَ

ولو شئتُ كان الناسُ لي شفعاءَ

I came to you without anyone interceding for me;

I came to You without an intercessor to intercede for me,

and had I wished, people would have been my intercessors.

Even though people could have been intercessors for me, had You willed.

ولكنَّني وفَّرتُ حمدي بأَسره

ولكنَّني وفَّرتُ حمدي بأَسره

عليك ولم أُشرك بك الشركاءَ

عليك ولم أُشرك بك الشركاءَ

But I reserved all my praise

But I devoted all my praise to You alone,

for you, letting no others share it with you.

And did not associate any partners with You.

نداك مَعينٌ كالذي قد علمتُه

نداك مَعينٌ كالذي قد علمتُه

ولو كان غَوْراً لالتمستُ رشاءَ

ولو كان غَوْراً لالتمستُ رشاءَ

Your bounty is a flowing spring, just as I have known it;

Your help is with me, as I already know,

and were it deep underground, I would seek a well-rope.

Even if it were hidden, I would look for a bribe.

وهذا شتاء قد أَظلَّ رِوَاقُه

وهذا شتاء قد أَظلَّ رِوَاقُه

وجارُك جارٌ لا يخافُ شتاءَ

وجارُك جارٌ لا يخافُ شتاءَ

And here is winter, its canopy already spread overhead;

This is a winter whose porch has become shaded,

and your neighbor is one who fears no winter.

And Your neighbor is a neighbor who does not fear winter.
