بادْر غُروسَ يديكَ بالسُّقْيَا

بادْر غُروسَ يديكَ بالسُّقْيَا

وأغِثْ بريٍّ قبلَ أن يَذْوى

وأغِثْ بريٍّ قبلَ أن يَذْوى

Hasten to water the plantings of your hands,

Hasten the palms of your hands to watering

And aid them with water before they wither.

And relieve a devotee before he withers

هذي صَنَائِعُكَ التي نطقَتْ

هذي صَنَائِعُكَ التي نطقَتْ

بالشكر أخْرِسها عن الشَّكوى

بالشكر أخْرِسها عن الشَّكوى

These are your benefactions, which have spoken

These are your good deeds that spoke

With thanks; keep them from voicing complaint.

With gratitude, leave them silent of complaint

جاءتْكَ تَستعدي نَداك على

جاءتْكَ تَستعدي نَداك على

رَيْب الزمان فأَعْدِ بالجَدْوَى

رَيْب الزمان فأَعْدِ بالجَدْوَى

They have come to you, seeking your bounty’s aid against

You came seeking my help against

The ravages of time; so grant redress with bounty.

The vicissitudes of time, so be resolute

أصبحتَ ذا نُعمَى عليَّ فلا

أصبحتَ ذا نُعمَى عليَّ فلا

تكُ مُلحقي بالعُدْوةِ القُصوى

تكُ مُلحقي بالعُدْوةِ القُصوى

You have become a benefactor to me, so do not

You have become one who has blessed me, so do not

Be the one to send me to the farther bank.

Make me join the furthest enemy

فامنُنْ بإنجاز لوعدكَ فال

فامنُنْ بإنجاز لوعدكَ فال

إنجاز فيه المنُّ والسَّلْوى

إنجاز فيه المنُّ والسَّلْوى

So grant the favor of fulfilling your promise, for

So fulfill your promise, for in

Fulfillment holds manna and quail.

Fulfilling is the favor and solace

وافكك من البلوى وثاقَ فتىً

وافكك من البلوى وثاقَ فتىً

سلبتْهُ ثوبَ يَسارِه البلوى

سلبتْهُ ثوبَ يَسارِه البلوى

And free a young man from affliction’s bonds,

And relieve the bonds of affliction from a young man

Whom affliction has stripped of his robe of prosperity.

Whose clothing of ease has been seized by affliction
