عُلُوّاً كبيراً وسبحانَها
Abu Yusuf's horns have risen high,
The horns of Abu Yusuf have risen high,
to a mighty height—and glory be to them!
Exalted and glorious are they!

Abu Yusuf, many a swooning woman with
O Abu Yusuf, how arrogant they are,
you—I've made my steed tread her arena!
Lowering their gaze at me in the arena.

أطرتُ بأيري شيطانها
When her devil led her to me,
When its devil drives them towards me,
I sent her devil flying with my cock.
I flip my spear at its devil.

وزلزلْتُ بالرَّهْزِ أركانها
With my cock's head I probed her heart,
I spy on its heart with my sword,
and with thrusting I shook her foundations.
And shake its pillars with the spearhead.

فألقى هنالك كفرانها
I mingle with the seat of her devotion,
I infiltrate the place of its loyalty,
and there I find her unbelief.
Then find its disbelief there.

As though, in probing her hidden depths,
It's as if I was sent into its hidden thoughts,
I had been sent to fathom her faith.
To uncover its faith.

That the Persians built their halls.
