وَأَسرَعنا النَجائِب في الوَخيذِ
I say to my companion as we set out
I say to my friend, when we depart
and urged the fine riding camels to a swift pace:
And hasten the she-camels in the sandy plain:
تَمَتَّعsavor مِنfrom لَذيذِthe sweetness of كَلامِthe speech of حَوراHawra
تَمَتَّع مِن لَذيذِ كَلامِ حَورا
فَماfor there is no بَعدَafter العَشِيَّةِthe evening مِنany لَذيذِdelight
فَما بَعدَ العَشِيَّةِ مِن لَذيذِ
Savor Hawra’s delightful words,
"Enjoy the sweet talk of a Houri,
for after the evening there is no delight.
For nothing is sweeter after evening's end."
