For the wronged, tooth-sheen and cool sweetness count as wrong;
Yet, but for those two, the grievance would bring its own relief.

Embers sometimes ripen, then burst into flame.

When it traces its descent to a blaze upon the cheeks?

Beauty has a face that never veils itself.

Their teeth, though I have not seen them, are bubbles.

'The commander has radiant chastity and noble descent.'

From comparison with their lookalikes, the reeds.
