إذا وصف الإنسان بالبرِّ والتقى

إذا وصف الإنسان بالبرِّ والتقى

يقولون هذا من عديد الملائكه

يقولون هذا من عديد الملائكه

When a person is described as righteous and pious,

If a man is described as righteous and devout

They say, “This one is numbered among the angels.”

They say this one is of the angels' ilk

وأقسم يا جبريل ما لك في الورى

وأقسم يا جبريل ما لك في الورى

مثيلٌ فأيد يا إلهي مسالكه

مثيلٌ فأيد يا إلهي مسالكه

And I swear, O Jibril, among humankind you have

And I swear O Gabriel, you have no peer on earth

No equal; so, O my God, strengthen his paths.

So aid, O my God, his path

وبالناصر السلطان زده مكانةً

وبالناصر السلطان زده مكانةً

وعمّر به أملاكه وممالكه

وعمّر به أملاكه وممالكه

And through al-Nasir, the sultan, raise his standing,

And grant the Sultan Al-Nasir higher status

And through him make his estates and kingdoms flourish.

And extend with him your realms and kingdoms

وعجَّل لراجي بابه كلّ ساعة

وعجَّل لراجي بابه كلّ ساعة

مطالبه أو للشقيّ مهالكه

مطالبه أو للشقيّ مهالكه

And swiftly grant, every hour, to the seeker at his gate

And hasten for all who seek his gate each hour

His wishes—or, to the wretched one, his ruin.

Their wants, or respite for the wretched
