بشرنيgave me glad tidings الدهرtime بقصدٍof an endeavor بهthrough it
بشرني الدهر بقصدٍ به
بداappeared علىupon أصحابيmy companions النجحsuccess
بدا على أصحابي النجح
Time gave me glad tidings of an endeavor through which
success dawned upon my companions.
وقالand it said إنif تستفتحواyou seek victory فيin رجاhope of
وقال إن تستفتحوا في رجا
خيرٍgood فقدthen indeed جاءَكمhas come to you الفتحvictory
خيرٍ فقد جاءَكم الفتح
And it said, “If you seek victory in hope of
good, then victory has indeed come to you.”
