لها غزالة أفقٍ في منازله
The lovesick lover’s enchantress is unveiled in his sanctuary—and oh,
The charm of youth shone in its protector so
what a sun of the horizon she is, within his dwellings!
It has a gazelle of the horizon in its dwellings

فيا لها من غزالٍ في حبائله
Until, when she trailed her paired tresses,
Until when she drew her braids doubly
and oh, what a gazelle she is in its snares!
Oh what a gazelle in its tresses!

لا تسألوا من فؤادي عن بلابله
Because of her sidelong glance and the swaying of her stature’s branch,
Whoever glanced at her and bent a branch of her stature
ask not of my heart about its anguish.
Do not ask my heart about its nightingales

If her face approaches, I lament the tyranny of its eye;
If her face turns I complain of the injustice of its look
or if her figure approaches, I lament the tyranny of its just one.
Or if her stature turns I complain of the injustice of its bending
