    والسيف مشتهرٌ بمعنًى واحد

    The essence of virtue, generosity, and valor is mine;

    while the sword is renowned for a single quality.

  2. بالنفس أضربُ في نضارٍ ذائبٍ

    والسيف يضرب في حديدٍ بارد

    With my own self I strike into molten gold;

    while the sword strikes into cold iron.
