Thanks for it—a blessing from the hand of a lord

Thanks to her, bounty from a generous lord

who spared me sponging and slicing.

That spared me begging and cadging

ولقد وَثقتُ بجودهِ متبصِّراً

ولقد وَثقتُ بجودهِ متبصِّراً

من قبل شمّ روائحِ البطيخ

من قبل شمّ روائحِ البطيخ

And indeed, I trusted in his generosity with clear insight,

And I had already relied on his goodness, discerning

before smelling the scents of melons.
