كرته بين الورى خاسره

كرته بين الورى خاسره

Tell Ibn Naʿlān, whose

Say to the son of Na'lan, who lost

venture among mankind has become a losing one:

His dice in this world of deceit,

ظلمتَ دنياكَ وطلَّقتها

ظلمتَ دنياكَ وطلَّقتها

فرُحتَ لا دنيا ولا آخره

فرُحتَ لا دنيا ولا آخره

You wronged your world and divorced it,

"You wronged your life, and divorced her.

so you went away with neither this world nor the Hereafter.

So you've neither this life, nor the next."
