منِّي وما رعت العصم

منِّي وما رعت العصم

Suʿād has truly parted

Happiness became real

from me, and did not honor the bonds.

From me though I did not protect myself

وشقيت بالأولاد بع

وشقيت بالأولاد بع

ضهمُ لكلِّي قد قصم

ضهمُ لكلِّي قد قصم

And I suffered through the children; some

And I was distressed by some children

of them have shattered my entire being.

Each one of them completely broke me

لولا ندى قاضي القضا

لولا ندى قاضي القضا

ة لواثق القصد انْفصم

ة لواثق القصد انْفصم

Were it not for the bounty of the chief judge,

If it were not for the judge of judges

the firm bond of resolve would have snapped.

My confident intentions would have been severed

هنئت شهراً بامْتدا

هنئت شهراً بامْتدا

حك فيه قد سمعَ الأصم

حك فيه قد سمعَ الأصم

May you be congratulated on a month; the praise

I congratulated a month with your presence

of you in it has been heard even by the deaf.

In it the deaf heard

يا من به لاذ الفق

يا من به لاذ الفق

ير من الفواقر واعْتصم

ير من الفواقر واعْتصم

O you with whom the poor sought refuge

O you in whom the poor sought refuge

from crushing calamities and sought protection,

From overwhelming disasters and held fast

يا ذا الرغائب من نوا

يا ذا الرغائب من نوا

لك لا أصوم ولم أصم

لك لا أصوم ولم أصم

O possessor of coveted gifts, from your bounty

O you who fulfilled desires

I do not fast, nor have I fasted.

I do not fast or go deaf

خصمى من الأولاد جا

خصمى من الأولاد جا

ر وأنت أولى من خصم

ر وأنت أولى من خصم

My adversary among the children has acted

My opponent of the children came

unjustly, and you are most worthy to prevail in dispute.

While you are more worthy than an opponent
