قلْ للوزير ابن تاج الدين يا سنداً

قلْ للوزير ابن تاج الدين يا سنداً

وفى ببرِّيَ باديه وباطنه

وفى ببرِّيَ باديه وباطنه

Say to the vizier Ibn Taj al-Din: O support,

Say to the minister, son of Taj Al-Din - support!

Whose outward and inward selves have faithfully shown me kindness,

Be loyal in tending to his homeland and heart.

شعري وقلبي بيتا مدحةٍ وولاً

شعري وقلبي بيتا مدحةٍ وولاً

حاشاكَ تهدم بيتاً أنت ساكنه

حاشاكَ تهدم بيتاً أنت ساكنه

My poetry and my heart are two houses of praise and devotion;

My poetry and heart are homes of praise and loyalty,

Far be it from you to demolish a house in which you dwell.

Far be it from you to demolish a home you live in.
