فإليك يقصد راغبٌ ويقصّد

Riding camels and poems of praise have journeyed to you.

So to you a hopeful seeker makes his way and composes odes.

سعدت بك الأرضُ التي وُلَّيتها

سعدت بك الأرضُ التي وُلَّيتها

من بعد ما أمست بغيرك تكمد

من بعد ما أمست بغيرك تكمد

The land placed in your charge has found happiness through you,

after languishing in sorrow under someone other than you.

وإذا نظرت إلى البقاع وجدتها

وإذا نظرت إلى البقاع وجدتها

تشقى كما تشقى الرِّجال وتسعد

تشقى كما تشقى الرِّجال وتسعد

And when you look upon the lands, you find them

suffering as men suffer, and finding happiness.
