يا منْ تحكم في المصالح رأيه

يا منْ تحكم في المصالح رأيه

فتوضَّحت فيها مطالع يمنه

فتوضَّحت فيها مطالع يمنه

O you whose judgment governs matters of welfare,

O you whose judgment in affairs is wise,

And in them the dawnings of his good fortune became clear.

In them the propitious omens of his fortune shine clear,

قسماً لقد تبعت بيمن ضجيعها

قسماً لقد تبعت بيمن ضجيعها

أحكام عبد الحقّ أحكام ابنه

أحكام عبد الحقّ أحكام ابنه

I swear: through her bedfellow’s good fortune, indeed,

By the life of her sleeping companion, verily she has followed

Abd al-Haqq’s rulings followed the rulings of his son.
