أيها الكامل قصراً

وولاءً وثناء

O you, perfect in palace,

O Perfect One, short in stature

and in loyalty and praise,

Yet mighty in loyalty and praise

أحمدُ الله الذي قد

أحمدُ الله الذي قد

جعلَ الشمس ضياء

جعلَ الشمس ضياء

I praise God, who has

I thank God who made

made the sun a radiance.

The sun to shine

سيدٌ حلَّ من المج

سيدٌ حلَّ من المج

دِ المعلى حيث شاء

دِ المعلى حيث شاء

A lord who dwelt in glory

A lord descended from glorious

exalted, wherever he wished;

Heights wherever he pleased

ودَنَا وِردُ أيادي

ودَنَا وِردُ أيادي

هِ فقصرْت الرِّشاء

هِ فقصرْت الرِّشاء

And the watering-place of his favors drew near,

And the roses of his generosity

so I shortened the well-rope.

Blossomed, so winter was abbreviated
