  1. يا جفوني دعي الكرى بعد مرأى

    فاتن الحسن ناصبٍ لشراكِ

    O my eyelids, forsake slumber after beholding

    one of bewitching beauty, setting snares.

  2. فهوَ إمَّا بحرفه أو بحسنٍ

    ليس فيك ينفكُّ صائداً لكراكي

    For he, whether through his craft or through beauty,

    never ceases to hunt your slumber within you.
