ياO ابنson of نباتةNubāta جارhas been unjust الزمانtime
يا ابن نباتة جار الزمان
وزِلْتَand you have declined وزالتْand have faded قوَىthe powers همَّتكof your resolve
وزِلْتَ وزالتْ قوَى همَّتك
O Ibn Nubāta, time has been unjust.
O son of nobility, neighbor of time
And you have declined, and the strength of your resolve has faded.
You slipped and your strength has faded
وقدand indeed كنتَyou were ذاpossessed of حكمةٍwisdom وانْقضتand it has ended
وقد كنتَ ذا حكمةٍ وانْقضت
فلاso may not أوحشَleave bereft اللهGod منof خدمتكyour service
فلا أوحشَ الله من خدمتك
And you once possessed wisdom, but it has come to an end.
And you were once so wise which has passed
So may God not leave us bereft of your service.
