May I be your ransom, sword-glanced scribe;
My sword, I sacrifice myself for your glances that write,
And one like you is ransomed, while one like me gives ransom.
And for one like you to be sacrificed, and one like me to sacrifice,

Your fingertips write in Coptic upon the tablet;
Your glances inscribe with Coptic letters on tablets,
And your glance writes within livers with an Indian sword.
And your glances write in hearts with Indian ink.
