أبثُّ صريحَ المدح أخرُج فيهِ من

قشوري فيأتي المدحُ فهو لباب

قشوري فيأتي المدحُ فهو لباب

I pour forth pure praise, emerging through it from

I pour out sincere praise, reveal in it

my husks; so the praise comes forth as pure kernel.

My inner self, so praise comes from the heart

تجوبُ أماديحِي بذكركَ في العلا

تجوبُ أماديحِي بذكركَ في العلا

وأدعيةٌ تحتَ الظلامِ تجاب

وأدعيةٌ تحتَ الظلامِ تجاب

My praises roam the heights with mention of you,

My poems roam high singing your glory

and prayers beneath the darkness are answered.

And dark prayers answered under cover of night
