The dear life of this age amidst prolonged distress

يتطَّلب المال ولا يناله

لا راحة الفقر ولا عيش الغنى

لا راحة الفقر ولا عيش الغنى

He seeks wealth but does not obtain it:

Money is needed but cannot be obtained

Neither poverty's rest nor a life of wealth is his.

No rest in poverty, nor life in wealth
