How delightful a waterwheel! How often it has spoken
With a tongue of water—and its talk is full of sorrow.
حنتit moaned with longing فباطنهاso its interior قلوبٌhearts كلّهall of it
حنت فباطنها قلوبٌ كلّه
وبكتand it wept فظاهرهاso its exterior الجميعall of it عيونeyes
وبكت فظاهرها الجميع عيون
It moaned with longing, so its interior is all hearts;
And it wept, so its exterior is all eyes.
