my perishing for you, nor any sin.

Wrapping yourself and no sin,

لكَ وجنةٌ خسرانُ قل

You have a cheek: the loss of my

For you a losing paradise, say,

heart in loving it is gain.

In its love are winds blowing,

من صدّ عن نيرانها

Whoever may turn away from its fires—

Whoever turns away from its fires,

as for me, I am Ibn Qays: I will not depart.
