And when you sent the money unasked, a welcome gift,

When I sent the money as a gift of congratulations

you added fresh beauty to this verse.

وما الشعر إلا روضةٌ راق حسنها

ولا سيما إن كان قد وقع الندى

And poetry is but a garden whose beauty delights,

For poetry is but a garden, beautiful in its splendor

especially if the dew has fallen.
