  1. وأغيد كلّ شيءٍ منه يعجبني

    كأنما هو مخلوق على شرطي

    And a graceful youth—everything about him delights me,

    As though he were created to my specifications.

  2. أجفانه السود لا تخطي إذا رشقتْ

    سهامها وسهام الليل لا تخطي

    His black eyelids never miss when they shoot

    Their arrows—and the arrows of night never miss.
