جادت صفات علي في الورى رتباً

تظلَّمت من سناها الأنجم الزهر

تظلَّمت من سناها الأنجم الزهر

Ali’s virtues lavished ranks upon humankind;

The attributes of Ali shone ranks in the world,

the bright stars complained of their radiance.

The stars were eclipsed by its years,

أما ترى ما تشكى من أنامله

أما ترى ما تشكى من أنامله

عطارد وادَّعى في وجهه القمر

عطارد وادَّعى في وجهه القمر

Do you not see how his fingertips drew complaints

Don't you see Mercury complaining of its fingers,

from Mercury, and how the moon brought suit against his face?

And the moon claiming its face?
