God bless you, night traveler coming to greet me,
who, beyond the night, stood in for Umm Salim.

The water of freshness and dew courses through him,
as the water of gladness coursed across a new arrival's face.

He breathed, bearing a greeting from a beloved,
for which we exultantly shook our turbans' trailing ends.

With a waft he reminds us of the fragrance of loved ones,
so we remember him with tears like rain from the clouds.
