You were granted well-directed resolve in war;

I was granted determination in wars, precise,

neither its wavering nor its missteps are feared.

Neither hesitating nor making mistakes.

ولك الفعال كثيرة حسناته

You have done good to the Ancient House and Yathrib,

I was good to the ancient house and Yathrib,

and yours are deeds whose merits are many.

And for you many good deeds have merits.

هذي سيوفك محرمات دونه

لبكائهن تبسمت حجراته

لبكائهن تبسمت حجراته

These swords of yours are consecrated before it;

These are your holy swords around it

at their weeping, its chambers smiled.

For their crying, its rooms smiled.
