above the dune, his buttocks are heavy.

I am smitten with one whose temple-locks are secure; he is not alarmed

by his many killings or his excess.

This heart has never ceased to hymn the fair idols,

exposing itself until its membrane was struck.

Ah, how lovely the abode of al-Nuhayla, and love

whose bounds are guarded by the tips of spears!

departing travelers, in the trees' graceful and slender forms.

a way to break that promise.

its footpads stringing the roses of its steps across it.

by its swift gait on the journey or its relentless haste.

It was massive-limbed; I kept riding until

its saddle-girths folded with leanness, and its breast-strap lengthened.

    بمظفر الدين انجلت أسدافه

    And many a night, like cares, I have worn;

through Muzaffar al-Din its veils of darkness were dispelled.
