I have spurned poetry, and shall never aspire to it.
I have forgiven al-Quraizi, so I shall never mention him again,
So much so that I have even spurned quoting it in books.
I have even forgiven myself from narrating him in books.

I abandoned composing it, not out of awe of it,
I have abandoned composing poetry for him, not out of awe,
Rather, it is fear of the ill fortune that comes with letters.
But out of dignity for the craft of literature.
