إذا خذلَ المرءَ سيفٌ وزند
I found you the nearest of mankind in giving aid,
And when you withhold, no use in blaming

The year is not barren whenever you give,
Will find none but you as their goal
and if you withhold, the hardship is not dreadful.

Whoever seeks life's honor
So you honored me - may your gifts endure!
