وضعيف البناء عن حمل ثوبيهِ قو

وضعيف البناء عن حمل ثوبيهِ قو

يّ في نقل كل حديثِ

يّ في نقل كل حديثِ

And one too frail in build to carry his two garments is strong

And weak in build for bearing his garments

in passing on every tale.

He is vigorous in conveying every tradition

فهو لو كان مثل أحدٍ لمـ

فهو لو كان مثل أحدٍ لمـ

ـا قصَّر عن حملهِ بسيرٍ حثيث

ـا قصَّر عن حملهِ بسيرٍ حثيث

So even if it were as huge as Uhud, he would

If he were like anyone he would not have failed

not fail to carry it at a brisk pace.

To bear it with a swift gait

هو كالذرّ لا كمثلِ أبي ذرٍّ

هو كالذرّ لا كمثلِ أبي ذرٍّ

وكم بين طّيب وخبيث

وكم بين طّيب وخبيث

He is like a tiny ant, not like Abu Dharr,

He is like a mote not like Abu Dharr

and what a gulf between the good and the vile!

And how much between good and evil
