للفيجة الغناء عين لم تزل

فيها تطاردنا المنى ونطارد

فيها تطاردنا المنى ونطارد

Verdant al-Fijah has a spring; ceaselessly,

The spring has an eye that will not cease

Wishes pursue us there, and we pursue them.

In it, wishes chase us and we chase

لا نرعوي فيها لقول مفند

لا نرعوي فيها لقول مفند

ولنا على دفع الملامة شاهد

ولنا على دفع الملامة شاهد

There we are not deterred by a faultfinder’s words,

We do not graze in it a hollow word

And we have proof to ward off blame:

And we have, to fend off blame, a witness

فالكنز يطلب بالعناء وهذه

فالكنز يطلب بالعناء وهذه

كنز تسيل من لجين بارد

كنز تسيل من لجين بارد

For treasure is sought through toil, and this is

For treasure is sought with toil, yet this

A treasure flowing with cold silver.
