في يد الإِرتهان عيني تملت
بعدafter عشرten بطيفupon the apparition of منher who قدalready تولّتْdeparted
بعد عشر بطيف من قد تولّتْ
In bondage’s grip, my eye gazed its fill,
After ten, upon the apparition of her who had departed,
مذsince أغارتwent into the lowlands وأنجدتand went into the highlands بفؤادwith the heart of
مذ أغارت وأنجدت بفؤاد
منone who is رهينheld captive لحيثماto wherever هيshe حلَّتْsettled
من رهين لحيثما هي حلَّتْ
Since she ranged through lowlands and highlands, bearing the heart
Of one bound to wherever she settled.
