لَوif أَنَّthat مُمرضَهُthe one who sickened him بِالهَجرِwith estrangement عايَدَهُvisited him
يَوماًone day لَخفَّفَhe would ease عَنهُfor him ماwhat يُكابِدُهُhe endures it
If the one who sickened him with estrangement visited him
If only my nurse with estrangement would visit me one day
One day, he would ease what he endures.
It would relieve me of what I'm enduring
لاmay not عَذَّبَtorment اللَهُGod مَنthe one who بالصَدِّwith rejection عَذَّبَنيtormented me
دَهريthroughout my life وَطارِفُهُand his newly acquired wealth ظُلميthe wrong done to me وَتالِدهand his inherited wealth
May God not torment the one who tormented me with rejection
May God not torment one who with aloofness torments me
Throughout my life; wronging me is his wealth, newly acquired and inherited.
Throughout my life and its vicissitudes, my injustice and its origins
أَبكيI weep فَيَضحَكُso he laughs مِنat دَمعيmy tears وَيُعجِبُهُand it pleases him
شَجويmy grief وَأَسهرand I stay awake ليليmy night وَهوَwhile he زاهِدُهُindifferent to it
I weep, and he laughs at my tears, and he delights in
I cry and he laughs at my tears, amazed by them
My grief; I stay awake through my night, while he is indifferent to it.
My lamentations, my sleepless nights, while he is indifferent to them
ياO قاصِداًyou who intend قَتلتيmy slaying ظُلماًunjustly بِلاwithout سَبَبa cause
عَمداًdeliberately خُفِfear اللَهَGod فيماin what أَنتَyou قاصِدُهُintent on it
O you who intend to kill me unjustly, without cause,
Oh you who intentionally killed me unjustly without cause
Deliberately—fear God in what you intend.
Purposely, fear God in what you intend
