O Harith, no people have set out in the afternoon or departed early,

Without a camel-driver for death following in their tracks.

O Harith, no sun has risen or set,

Without lifespans drawing nearer to their appointed end.

Are we anything but like souls you pass by,

Beneath the earth, and bodies like other bodies?
