بايطاليا وهي العاديه

ميادين فرساننا العاديه

In Italy—and she is the aggressor—

lie the battlefields of our charging horsemen.

ونحن على ثقة ان يكون

لنا الفوز والشوكة الباقيه

And we are certain that there will be

victory and lasting might for us.

اعد نظر الألمعي البصير

تر النصر آياته باديه

Look again with a keen, discerning eye;

you will see victory's signs plainly revealed.

الم تغرق الدراعات العظام

قلاع طرابلس الراسيه

Have not the mighty ironclads been sunk

by Tripoli's steadfast fortresses?

الم تر كيف هجوم الأسود

يحطم طليانها الثاغيه

Have you not seen how the lions' assault

crushes her bleating Italians?

الم ترفتك الوباء الذريع

يطوح بالجند للهاويه

Have you not seen the devastating plague's ravages,

hurling the troops into the abyss?

اليس بعصيان أهل الجنوب

لخذلانهم آية كافيه

Is there not, in the southern people's revolt,

a sufficient sign of their defeat?

أإيطاليا ما الذي تأملين

من حربنا هذه الداميه

O Italy, what do you hope for

from this bloody war against us?

امامك ورد الردى فانظري

لنفسك ايتها الظاميه

Before you lies a draught of death; so look out

for yourself, O thirsty one.

سلي ان جهلت بنا تخبري

فليست بسالتنا خافيه

Ask, if you do not know us, and you will learn:

for our valor is no secret.

وملؤ مسامع كل الشعوب

صليل صوارمنا الماضيه

And filling the ears of all peoples

is the ringing of our keen-edged swords.

وسوف تعجين منها كما

تعج من الميسم الراغيه

And you will cry out from them, just as

the bellowing she-camel cries out at the branding iron.

وقد قضي الأمر فاستنظري

على ملكك الضربة القاضيه

And the matter has already been decided; so await

the fatal blow against your dominion.

سترديك آمالك الخادعات

فتعس سياستك الواهيه

Your deceptive hopes will destroy you;

so woe to your feeble policy!

فلا تنجلي الحرب أو تخسري

مقامك في الدول الراقيه

For the war will not end until you lose

your standing among the advanced nations.

ارى لك في حربنا منه

ساشكرها طول أياميه

I see a favor to your credit in this war against us,

for which I shall be grateful all my days.

خصامك قد جمع المسلمين

وهاج وعواطفها الذاكيه

Your hostility has already united the Muslims

and stirred their blazing passions;

وسهل نهج اتحاد بعيد

لنا مجد أيامنا الخاليه

and eased the path toward a distant union;

ours is the glory of our bygone days.

مددت يداً لاجتناء القطوف

ولكنها ليست الدانيه

You stretched out a hand to pluck the fruit-clusters,

but they are not within reach.

فلا أنت نلت جني الثمار

ولا سلمت يدك الجانيه

So neither have you reaped the fruits,

nor has your guilty hand escaped unharmed.

طرابلس العرب أنت الحمى

وفيك القساورة الحاميه

Tripoli of the Arabs, you are the sanctuary,

and within you are the guardian lions.

وأنت بمرأى من المسلمين

في نازح الأرض والدانيه

And you are in the sight of the Muslims,

in lands both far away and near.

سنرخص دونك منا النفيس

من المال والأنفس الغاليه

We shall count our precious possessions cheap in your defense—

our wealth and our cherished lives.

ونملا برك ذاك العريض

بسارية الجيش والغاديه

And we shall fill that broad land of yours

with the army's night-marching and dawn-marching columns.

تطوع جيش يسد الفضاء

وينتسف القنن العاليه

An army has volunteered, filling the open expanse,

and tearing away the lofty peaks.

كتائب تنهد مثل الجبال

نار براكينها حاميه

Battalions advance like mountains,

their volcanoes' fire blazing hot.

دعاها إلى النصر داعي الرشاد

فلبت بلاد الهدى داعيه

The herald of right guidance called them to victory,

so the lands of guidance answered its herald.
