And an epidemic befell the clan of Harb, clan of Yasins

من النبي قضوا ديناً كما زعموا

ولا ديون لهم الا على الدين

They exacted a debt from the Prophet, as they claimed,

From the Prophet they claimed to fulfill a debt

yet no debts were owed them except by the faith.

And they had no debts except to the faith

رأس ابن فاطمة خير الورى نسباً

يا للعجائب يهدى لابن ميسون

يا للعجائب يهدى لابن ميسون

The head of Fatima's son, noblest of humankind in lineage,

The head of the son of Fatima, the best of mankind in lineage

—O wonder!—is presented as a gift to the son of Maysun.

Oh, the wonders! It is gifted to the son of Maysoon
